I’m not going to lie- being a stay at home Mompreneur can be lonely. As much as I love my daughter and the freedom to set my own hours, spending long stretches with someone who is speaking in rudimentary sentences tough.
Luckily for me, I work outside the home in the winter, and while I keep my Beautycounter and Consulting businesses going year round, I have a season of my year where I work with people that I can actually see live.
Now there are downsides with that too, but the more I work in all these directions, the more I realize a few things:
- Dream big. You can have a full time job, a rewarding side hustle and a happy family life. You can’t have everything perfect all at once from the beginning, but believe in yourself and the possibilities- dream big. Believe in abundance.
- There is great satisfaction in a job well done. Never compromise your standards or your sanity, but embrace the opportunity to work hard and make progress. Every small step in the right direction counts.
- Stay focused on the thing right in front of you. (Read more productivity tips here). When your working your 9-5, find the way that lets you work the best and leave at the end of the day feeling accomplished. When you set your blogging or other business hours, honor them as true business hours and work them. When it’s family time, focus on the people right in front of you.
- Surround yourself with good people. Find companies that inspire you to be the best version of yourself. Take time to reach out. Take breaks and chat with your friends. Recognize the power of connection. Even if you mainly work remotely, don’t forget your still working with people. No one wants to feel like a cog in the wheel or a check on your to do list.
Every day is a new challenge and a new opportunity- share your challenges in the comments below and let’s work through some solutions together!
