I’ve never been a fan of fads.

I never quite know how to wear trends, I’m usually too cheap to buy things I’m unsure of, and by the time I’ve figured it out, it’s over.

One thing you could call a fad is charcoal. I think it’s here to stay, so hop on board. Your skin will love you for it.

Better Beauty Vermont Beautycounter Hair CareAn area I struggled to switch to safer was hair care extras. Beautycounter has a great daily shampoo, and has since added some great salon quality shampoos and hair care products, but it took a while to find a dry shampoo that met my standards. It’s not perfect, but the Hask Purifying Dry Shampoo is as close as I’ve found. The link takes you right to it on Amazon- and it leaves my hair refreshed but not white or filmy.

I’ve also fallen in love with Little Seed Farm’s Charcoal Deodorant and Scrub.  The deodorant is the best I’ve found, and it’s easy to get used to the cream style. Now they ship it with a biodegradable little spoon to make it easier to scoop. Give it a try for sure!

Better Beauty Vermont Beautycounter Charcoal MaskEven though I’m an “adult” I’m still dealing with acne. Yup. At the rate I’m going, I’ll be helping my daughter with her acne while still battling my own. You know what really helps? A weekly charcoal mask and using charcoal soap in the shower. Now, you might hesitate at spending more than a few dollars on a bar of soap, but this one lasts for months. Literally. Like 4-6 depending on use. All the other charcoal bars I’ve tried only last a month or so.

Charcoal. It’s in my wood stove and on my skin. I wouldn’t have it any other way…. What are your favorite charcoal products?
