As a new mom, I was horrified to learn about the lack of accountability in the personal care and cosmetic industry. Just because something is sold in store doesn't mean it's been tested for safety. In fact, there are ingredients commonly found in products in the US that are banned in the EU because they don't meet safety standards. Some are known carcinogens and endocrine system disruptors. I've partnered with Beautycounter to share what I've learned with others and further the mission of getting safer products in the hands of everyone. Join me on my journey as I #switchtosafer!

Changing Seasons

I love fall. The crisp air, the stunning foliage, the warm sun. All of it. Well, except the inevitable few weeks where my skin goes into a tail spin. The hot humid summer and cold dry winter are in stark... Continue Reading →

The Power of Smell

When we think of fragrance, we probably imagine something like the above. The reality is, we should be imagining something like this: Fragrance (aka parfum) is usually made up of over 3000 industrial chemicals that are considered a trade secret... Continue Reading →

Sharing is Caring

There's a lot of talk in the mom world about community. There are mom blogs, mom groups, mom forums, you name it. It can be a lonely time when you're first left home with this little bundle and I remember... Continue Reading →

Moms and Worry

I saw a meme somewhere along the way (that I naturally can't find now) that was something along the lines of "Moms worry even when their eyes are closed" and it struck a nerve. Maybe I'm still a rookie mom... Continue Reading →
