It's not always easy. There are days that the hustle shows no results. Then days with promise, then nothing. That's the life of a mompreneur. There are days that my daughter does all her pees in the potty and days where all end up on the floor or in a diaper. I'm confident that she will not go to school in diapers, just like I'm confident that my business will be emotionally and financially rewarding.
So get outside today. Leave your phone on the counter. Go for a walk. Listen to your own thoughts. Follow your heart. Listen to what thoughts bubble to the surface. You have the answers you need, now it's time to act.
Then I realized traditions are routines. This trip is just as important as potty training. Her spending time with her grandparents in the same way her dad was raised- experiencing the same places, tastes and sounds is important. We might lose a little potty progress, but we're gaining a foundation on which we can build a strong sense of family. Of tradition.
So here's the thing- life happens at the speed of light. Time marches on and every day you spend thinking "what if" or "I'll do it tomorrow" is time you don't get back.
One of my goals this year is to read a book every month. I used to be a voracious reader, but life intervened and it seems like ages ago that I had time to really hunker down and read. To hold myself to this goal, I'm participating in the book club that's part of the College of Confidence and for the month of July we read "Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance" by Angela Duckworth.
I've fallen in love. With writing, with working from home, with helping others. The whole bit. I've always found it difficult to define what I love to do- I like to do all sorts of things, but over the last year of blogging and working as an educator with Beautycounter I've really discovered that I love this work.
