I only recently began to think of myself as a runner again. I'm trying to get out at least three times a week. On Mondays I can run by myself. There's something magical about pushing yourself, getting past the point of quitting and literally going the extra mile. Feeling your body accept the task and re-energize. Thing is, you don't have to run hundreds of miles a week to be a runner. You just have to run.

I've learned this very important lesson: You are capable of so much more than you can even imagine. There were days in the beginning where I wasn't sure I could get her to adulthood, but here we are- not at adulthood yet- but well into toddlerhood. She is a little human with a personality. There's never going to be a perfect time for anything. There will always be a reason not to. The day I went all in with those two lilacs, we were dog sitting, but toddler was roaming around and I was trying to keep track of all those moving parts without killing the lilacs. But I started, and it looks great. Well, it will look great soon... I hope. No, I know it will.
