I'm not going to lie- being a stay at home Mompreneur can be lonely. As much as I love my daughter and the freedom to set my own hours, spending long stretches with someone who is speaking in rudimentary sentences tough.
Productivity is a mindset. Believing you have the skills and the time to get it done is half the battle.
I am also setting office hours to better serve you and your hustle. With an eye for detail, a passion for blogging and writing, and a keen desire to use social media to foster connections, let's chat about how I can best serve you.
Recently, because I'm one of those people that pretty much reads every email I'm sent, I noticed our neighbors just up the hill were offering a barter for firewood- you can have the same amount you stack for them. Now, we've lived in out house since 2010 and I still haven't met these neighbors. They're literally at the top of the hill that begins at the end of my driveway. I'm sure we've passed on the road, but I had no idea what they looked like, or which black truck they drive.
It's not always easy. There are days that the hustle shows no results. Then days with promise, then nothing. That's the life of a mompreneur. There are days that my daughter does all her pees in the potty and days where all end up on the floor or in a diaper. I'm confident that she will not go to school in diapers, just like I'm confident that my business will be emotionally and financially rewarding.
So get outside today. Leave your phone on the counter. Go for a walk. Listen to your own thoughts. Follow your heart. Listen to what thoughts bubble to the surface. You have the answers you need, now it's time to act.
Busy is a mindset. Busy is not an end goal. Being more stressed than your co-workers doesn't make you a better employee. It doesn't make you happier. Taking time to organize your life, take care of yourself and see the forest for the trees lets you keep that vacation feeling all year long.
So here's the thing- life happens at the speed of light. Time marches on and every day you spend thinking "what if" or "I'll do it tomorrow" is time you don't get back.
I'm guilty of it too- we all want instant gratification. When things don't work in the first week, we often dismiss them. It's why millions of dollars of exercise equipment sits unused in basements across America. I want to plant broccoli on Monday and eat it on Friday. When it's not ready until August, it's hard.
