How Does Your Garden Grow?

I'm guilty of it too- we all want instant gratification. When things don't work in the first week, we often dismiss them. It's why millions of dollars of exercise equipment sits unused in basements across America. I want to plant broccoli on Monday and eat it on Friday. When it's not ready until August, it's hard.

You Are What You Do

I only recently began to think of myself as a runner again. I'm trying to get out at least three times a week. On Mondays I can run by myself. There's something magical about pushing yourself, getting past the point of quitting and literally going the extra mile. Feeling your body accept the task and re-energize. Thing is, you don't have to run hundreds of miles a week to be a runner. You just have to run.

It’s Time to Work on Your Foundation

I've loved those shoes since college- they were the perfect shade of dark oiled brown. They fit my feet perfectly. I've walked millions (OK, plenty) of miles in these shoes. Slightly ratty flip flops. Not good.

Stepping Out

Last week, we spent most of the day inside while Stella the Blizzard raged on outside. I say most of the day because my toddler wanted out, and she wanted out bad. Now, I knew that (just like the dogs),... Continue Reading →

Winter’s Last Hurrah

The Northeast was recently walloped by winter storm Stella. I ventured out Tuesday morning to get all the supplies for the week, taking advantage of my husband's day off and toddler free shopping opportunity. Despite all the warnings to the... Continue Reading →

Makeup Monday-Why Less is More

Perhaps my minimalist preferences for makeup are because I've never been overly confident in my application skills. Growing up a bit of a tomboy, I spent hours building things out of sticks and not working on the perfect blended eyeshadow... Continue Reading →

True Beauty Comes from Within

I never really thought of myself as beautiful. I still don't spend that much time thinking about it, but am slowly starting to believe that while Ford Models is unlikely to sign me, I have a a beauty all my... Continue Reading →
