It happened the other day. That first morning with a hint of fall.
Some look at this with dread- summer is almost over… others (like me) love fall. I love the crisp air, the cozy clothes and the opportunity to start a new season. I love the transition- a chance to start fresh- to clean out the closets, change up my makeup and set new goals.
Luckily, Beautycounter just launched the Five Minute Face collection– foundation, concealer, an eyebrow pencil, mascara, blush and a lip gloss for $148 ($194 value!). Safer products that work well together, compliment all skin tones and last all day. Not kidding- all day.
We all have a lot going on- especially the working moms that are reading. What I love about the Five Minute Face is it can be done in less than five minutes if you’re really pushed, or you can build on it and take more time (adding eye shadow, eye liner, layer your lips, or whatever you feel like!). I don’t wear makeup every day, but when I do, I want it to be simple, beautiful and safe.
Safe? Yes- safe. When I was pregnant with my first, I did all the research- what to eat, what to avoid, best products- you name it. One thing that kept running trough my head- if it’s not safe for the 9 months of pregnancy, is it safe for the other 1,000 months of your life? I began to dig deeper and learned some uncomfortable truths about the state of the cosmetics industry- companies can put known carcinogens and other potentially harmful chemicals into the products we use on our skin with little to no regulations.
80% of the chemicals commonly used in cosmetics have never been tested for safety.
Beautycounter is determined to do something about it. Transparent with ingredients and sourcing, consistent with safety and testing, by trusting Beautycounter I don’t have to do all the research (though I love the ewg.org app for things Beautycounter doesn’t make yet…)
